SMM9 March 18, 2020 (2nd) China Industry Expo New Materials Forum-China Automotive New Materials Application Summit Forum, jointly organized by Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Shanghai Society of Automotive Engineering, Suzhou Die casting Technology Association and Shanghai Nonferrous Network (SMM). And China (eighth) aluminum processing industry chain supply and demand trading summit, and China (second) copper processing industry chain supply and demand trading summit successfully concluded in Shanghai. A total of four parallel forums were arranged for this summit, among which the special forum on automotive copper-based materials was held on the morning of September 18. Six experts in automotive copper-based materials related fields made a professional and comprehensive interpretation of their material applications, solutions and technical requirements, and development trends. The guests at the scene listened and learned carefully and gained a lot, laying the technical groundwork for the development of the enterprise.
Xiao Xiangpeng, vice president of Jiangxi Advanced Copper Industry Research Institute of Jiangxi University of Technology, delivered a speech on the theme of "High performance Copper-based Materials for Automotive and their Research and Development". According to the Energy Saving and New Energy vehicle Industry Development Plan of the State Council (2012-2020), by 2020, the production capacity of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles will reach 2 million vehicles, with a cumulative production and sales volume of more than 5 million vehicles. Dozens of foreign-funded joint venture wire harness enterprises account for more than 80% of China's automobile wiring harness market.
The development of charging piles overseas: the construction of charging piles in the United States has exceeded 50, 000 in 2014, and by 2019, the number has exceeded 100000, and is increasing year by year. France will build 16000 new charging piles in 2022, with a total investment of more than 80 million euros. By the end of 2019, the number of electric vehicles produced in Germany had reached 1 million, with less than 3000 charging piles. The number of charging piles in use in Japan has just exceeded 3000, which is far from enough to meet the demand for charging piles for electric vehicles.

Xiao Zhu, associate professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Central South University, brought a lecture on the theme of "Research and Development of Copper Alloys for Automotive Electronic and Electrical Systems". The speech covers the development status of the copper industry, the classification and application of high-performance copper alloys, the research and development of high-conductivity copper alloys for power transmission, the outline of the report, the research and development of high-elastic copper alloys for signal transmission, the research and development of special functional copper matrix composites, the design of high-performance copper alloys, etc.
The design principles of high-performance copper alloys include: applying plastic deformation to copper and copper alloy materials to improve the mechanical properties of materials (plain design, and through processing technology rather than adding alloy elements); heat treatment to adjust the structure: reasonable heat treatment, adjust the structure of the material, improve the properties of the material.
[automobile Summit] sharing: the development status of copper industry, the application of high-performance copper alloy, and the practical information of research and development of high-conductivity and high-elastic copper alloy.
TE Connectivity (Shanghai) Ltd. Roc.Dong, senior manager of the Engineering and Design Department of the Automotive Division, brought a lecture on the theme of "Application and Development of Metal Materials for Automotive Connectors", mainly from two aspects: the research and development of metal materials in electric vehicles and their applications.
Zhang Min, Senior Manager of Technical Marketing Department of Ningbo Bowei Alloy material Co., Ltd., made a speech on "High performance Copper Alloy Application solution in Automobile Intelligence trend". Press-fit technology is a method to realize reliable connection of electrical contacts by means of cold connection and non-welding. Compared with welding technology, Pressfit has the following advantages: no thermal stress in PCB and components during crimping; tight connection in the contact area between Press-fit and PCB; no welding bridge, no flux residue, no cleaning; recyclable and environmentally friendly.
Cao Hongfei, chief engineer of Zhejiang Godson Electric Drive Technology Co., Ltd., brought a speech on the theme of "commonly used materials and technical demand trends of automotive power motors". The motor accounts for a large proportion of the total electric power cost; with the development of power electronic technology and the material cost of the motor will account for more than half of the system cost; as the foreign supply chain is better than the domestic supply chain, domestic enterprises need to give full play to the low-cost advantage of the motor in order to ensure that the domestic electric system has sufficient market competitiveness. The main materials of the motor are metal, except that the structural parts are greatly affected by the processing cost, the rest of the cost directly depends on the amount of raw materials. The raw material cost of driving motor basically does not change with the increase of output.
Key points of industry demand: the five major factors that the vehicle pays attention to motor performance are: high power density, low noise, high efficiency, low cost and less involvement; good brands must rely on good products to ensure reliability. Motor product manufacturing technology and production management are the most key factors to ensure product competitiveness. No ideal motor can meet all customer needs. No full-car customers will give in on cost control.

Peng Lijun, deputy director of the Institute of Advanced Copper Alloy Materials and preparation and processing Technology of Youyan Engineering and Technology Research Institute, gave a speech on the theme of "Research and Application of Copper Alloy Materials for High current Connectors of charging piles". According to the National Strategic emerging Industry Development Plan of the 13th five-year Plan issued by the State Council, the application proportion of new energy vehicles will be greatly increased. In the major strategy of "made in China 2025", "energy-saving and new energy vehicles" are listed as the top ten key research and development areas.
According to the guidelines for the Development of Electric vehicle charging Infrastructure issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and other four ministries (2015-2020), about 12000 new charging stations and 4.8 million charging piles will be built in 2020 to meet the charging needs of 5 million new energy vehicles. The main power equipment of the charging station is power cable and transformer, in addition, it also includes circuit breakers, fuses, various switches, connectors, etc.; the main copper components of the charging pile include charging cables, charger modules, connectors and various switches, etc. It is estimated that the charging infrastructure of new energy vehicles will bring about 100,000 tons of copper demand.
