Suntech Indonesia 500MW high efficiency battery module integration project put into production

SMM News: in recent years, Suntech, the leader in the photovoltaic industry, has the advantage of vertical integration of the group, and now has the production capacity of 9.5GW efficient components. On September 16th, Suntech announced that the 500MW high-efficiency photovoltaic module integration project in Indonesia was officially put into production. It is reported that the project is put into production to meet the needs of photovoltaic products in the United States and Indonesia. The commissioning also marks Suntech's global capacity layout has broken through 10GW.

Suntech Indonesia production base is located in Batam Island, Indonesia, only 30 nautical miles from Singapore, has obvious geographical advantages, and logistics costs are comparable to other Southeast Asian countries. As the first company to be qualified to build a local chemical plant in Indonesia, Suntech Indonesia has 500MW battery capacity and 500MW module capacity, and the production line is compatible with multiple main grid batteries of all sizes from 158to 166mm, as well as room for upgrading 182mm oversized batteries. In the later stage, the production capacity of the base will be gradually expanded and is expected to reach 1GW capacity and 1GW component capacity by the end of 2020.
