National Bureau of Statistics: China's crude steel output increased by 8.4% year-on-year in August

SMM: according to the National Bureau of Statistics, China's crude steel output in August 2020 was 94.85 million tons, an increase of 8.4 percent over the same period last year. From January to August, crude steel output was 688.89 million tons, an increase of 3.7 percent over the same period last year.

In August 2020, China produced 78.55 million tons of pig iron, an increase of 5.0 percent over the same period last year. From January to August, China produced 589.4 million tons of pig iron, an increase of 3.4 percent over the same period last year.

In August 2020, China's steel output was 119.13 million tons, an increase of 11.3 percent over the same period last year. From January to August, steel output was 844.69 million tons, an increase of 4.8 percent over the same period last year.
