SMM News: from September 9 to 11, 2020, the Department of Raw material Industry went to Jiangsu Province to carry out special research on rare earths, and inspected China thin Toyo permanent Magnet Motor, Weifulida and other enterprises to gain an in-depth understanding of their production and operation, technology research and development, and market expansion, and held discussions and exchanges with relevant units. The leaders of the department affirmed the achievements of the development of the rare earth application industry in Jiangsu Province, hoping to further stimulate the vitality of enterprises, strengthen scientific and technological innovation, and speed up the formation of a new development pattern with domestic and international circulation as the main body.

South Korea to Import Mongolian Rare Earths Tariff-Free Under CEPA Agreement
South Korean President Lee Jae-myung held a summit with Mongolian President Khurelsukh at the government complex in Ulaanbaatar and announced the conclusion in principle of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) through a joint declaration. As a result, South Korea will immediately eliminate the 2–5% import tariffs previously imposed on Mongolian copper, molybdenum and rare earths.
