SMM: California approved a project of nearly 40, 000 public charging piles on Thursday, according to comprehensive media reports.

It is understood that the charging pile project, with a total investment of nearly 437 million US dollars, is the largest public utility project approved in the history of the United States to expand the charging infrastructure.

The California Public Utilities Commission said the money would be allocated to Southern California Edison (Southern California Edison), to build nearly 40, 000 charging piles.

The committee said the project would help California meet its goal of putting 5 million electric vehicles on the road by 2030.
