SMM: on the morning of July 19, the opening ceremony of the annual production of 300000 aluminum alloy lightweight mini-cars in Hechi was held in Luodong Industrial concentration District, Yizhou District.

Huagui lightweight mini-car project is located in Hechi Yizhou Luodong industrial concentration area, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan, the project covers an area of 2000 mu, annual production capacity of 500000 vehicles, divided into two phases of construction. The total investment in the first phase is 2 billion yuan, the land is about 1200 mu, and the annual production capacity of 300000 aluminum alloy lightweight mini-cars is designed. The project is expected to achieve annual sales of about 100000 vehicles in the second year of mass production, with an annual output value of about 4 billion yuan, and annual sales of 300000 vehicles in the fifth year of mass production, with an annual output value of about 12 billion yuan and an annual tax revenue of about 300 million yuan. After the project reaches production, it will drive the surrounding automobile parts supporting enterprises to produce more than 300000 sets per year, the annual turnover will exceed 6 billion yuan, and the local employment in Hechi City will exceed 10, 000 people.

The annual production of 300000 aluminum alloy lightweight mini-cars in Hechi will be built around the three major industrial clusters of "lightweight, new energy and smart Internet", and will be built into a national aluminum alloy lightweight mini-car science and technology demonstration park. The landing of the project in Yizhou will achieve a breakthrough in Yizhou automobile industry from scratch to zero, which will not only promote the optimization of Yizhou industrial structure and industrial layout, but also promote the quality development of Yizhou industry.

Rio Tinto Secures Bell Bay Smelter Operations Through End-2031
Rio Tinto announced on October 1 that it had reached agreements with the Tasmanian Government, the Australian Commonwealth Government and Hydro Tasmania to extend electricity supply to the Bell Bay aluminium smelter through the end of 2031. The two governments will also provide a combined A$200 million support package over five years, contributing A$100 million each. Commercial terms of the power agreement were not disclosed. Bell Bay produces around 190,000 tonnes of primary aluminium annually, while its existing electricity contract was due to expire at the end of 2026. The agreement removes the smelter’s immediate operational uncertainty. Bell Bay is the third major Australian aluminium smelter to receive government-backed support in 2026, following Boyne and Tomago, highlighting continued pressure from high electricity costs and international competition.
