Secondary lead smelters operating rates fell to 52.7%

Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 52.7% in the week ended July 10, down 0.7 percentage point from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.

SHANGHAI, Jul 10 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 52.7% in the week ended July 10, down 0.7 percentage point from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.


The average operating rates in Henan and Jiangsu remained unchanged at 50.9% and 53.3%, respectively, as smelters there were still grappling with battery scrap shortages.


The ongoing production adjustments at Anhui Dahua dragged on the average operating rate for the region by 2.3 percentage points to 46.1%.


The average operating rate in Guizhou inched up 1 percentage point on the week to 68%. Some furnaces at Guizhou Cengxiang remained under maintenance this week.
