SHANGHAI, Jul 2 (SMM) – About 165,000 heavy trucks are estimated to have been sold in China last month, marking the highest for the month of June on record, cvworld.cn. reported on Wednesday.
The sales slipped 8% from the previous month, but jumped 59% from June 2019, bringing the tally for the first six months of 2020 to 810,000 units, up 23% from the same period last year.
China’s heavy truck sales have staged a V-shape recovery, posting solid year-over-year gains for three consecutive months.
The sales surged 66% year on year in May, 61% in April, following declines of 19.3% and 51.8% in March and February, respectively.
The industry body expects China’s heavy truck sales to exceed 1.3 million units for the year of 2020, up from a record high of 1.17 million units for 2019.
