SHANGHAI, Jun 9 (SMM) – Independent steel rolling mills for hot-rolled coil in China’s steelmaking hub Tangshan are required to suspend feeding in raw materials to furnaces until 12:00 CST on June 13, as the local government extended the tightened anti-smog measures by three days.

The tightened controls cover HRC rolling mills in districts/cities of Lubei, Gaoxin, Kaiping, Guye, Fengrun, Fengnan and Luanzhou.

The Tangshan government announced on June 9 to extend the stricter environmental controls, on the top of the current air pollution control measures for June, from June 9 to 13, due to unfavourable weather conditions for dispersing air pollutants. The tighter anti-smog requirements were implemented on June 6.
