SMM5: after closing an aging smelter, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group plans to hold a lighting ceremony for the copper smelting project at the new plant in Inner Mongolia in July. According to SMM, the project has an investment of 5 billion yuan, an annual crude copper production capacity of 300000 tons and an annual refined copper production capacity of 200000 tons.

It is reported that the new plant broke ground in Chifeng High-tech Industrial Development Park on April 18, 2018, marking the formal "retreat into the park" of the project. The spark of the existing smelting system will ignite the first furnace of copper water for the new project, and the project ignition ceremony will be held on July 28.

On May 18, Chifeng Jinjian Copper Co., Ltd. held the ceremony of collecting fire and shutting down the Austrian furnace system.

Chifeng Jinjian Copper Co., Ltd. was founded in August 1990, and the existing plant was put into use in 1993. After 27 years of operation, the old plant will officially stop production on May 20, 2020.

For a long time, Tongling Nonferrous has actively implemented the concept of green development, resolutely eliminated backward production capacity, and realized industrial transformation and upgrading. According to the overall urban planning and deployment of Chifeng City, we will build the eastern industrial corridor of Chifeng City, and implement the project of upgrading the copper smelting process of Jinjian Copper Industry in different places in accordance with the policy of "enclave economy" and the requirements of enterprises to "withdraw from the city and enter the park".
