SMM May 22nd: the overall performance of the antimony market is weakening this week, and the prices of some antimony products continue to decline to a certain extent, due to the recent domestic and foreign market demand has not improved obviously, and with the low price shipping prices of antimony products in some regions such as Guangxi and Yunnan, the overall domestic antimony prices are weaker. From the perspective of market transactions, the actual number of effective orders does not change much compared with the previous period. When the market price is weakening, downstream buyers maintain the principles of on-demand procurement and price comparison procurement. Therefore, as far as the supplier is concerned, the expectation of the overall demand change for a period of time in the future is also gradually weakening, and the competition for valid orders in the current market is still fierce.

In terms of antimony ingots, the average price of SMM antimony ingots as of the weekend: 34500 yuan / ton for low bismuth antimony ingots, 35000 yuan / ton for antimony ingots, 36000 yuan / ton for antimony ingots, and 33000 yuan / ton for antimony ingots with high bismuth, down 500 yuan / ton compared with last week. Although the price of antimony ingot is weak, due to the current cost constraints, the mentality of manufacturers is still stable, and there is no competitive selling. On Wednesday, the market price of antimony oxide also followed that of antimony ingots, which was slightly weaker under the influence of antimony ingots. As of the weekend, the average price of SMM antimony trioxide was 99.5% at 32250 yuan / ton and 99.8% at 33750 yuan / ton, down 750 yuan / ton compared with last week. It is expected that the antimony market will remain weak next week, and the possibility of a slight decline cannot be ruled out.

China's Sodium Pyroantimonate Output to Drop 25% in Sept 2026 Amid Weak Demand
According to SMM estimates, China’s output of first-grade sodium pyroantimonate in September 2026 is expected to drop by approximately 25% month-on-month. The sharp fall in September output came as a surprise to many market participants, as the traditional peak season of "Golden September and Silver October" failed to materialize. In the short term, demand for antimony from the photovoltaic sector is unlikely to improve. The scenario of weak supply alongside weak demand will persist for some time.

China's Antimony Ingot Output Falls 2% in September, Continues Downward Trend Amid Lower Ore Imports
SMM assessment shows that China’s antimony ingot output (including antimony ingots, converted crude antimony, cathode antimony, etc.) in September 2026 fell by approximately 2% month-on-month, continuing its downward trend. Regarding the drop in September antimony output, some market participants view it as a normal development. After all, according to customs data, the sharp decline in overseas antimony ore imports in August will inevitably translate into lower antimony ingot production.
