China issued 6th batch of metals scrap import quotas for 2020

China's environmental authorities on Thursday issued the sixth batch of copper, aluminium and ferrous scrap import quotas for 2020.

SHANGHAI, Apr 23 (SMM) – China's environmental authorities on Thursday issued the sixth batch of copper, aluminium and ferrous scrap import quotas for 2020.

 

The China Solid Waste and Chemicals Management Bureau, a unit of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, granted import allowances for 2,150 mt of high-grade copper scrap to six companies in the latest release, bringing cumulative quotas for this year to 529,761 mt.

 

In the fifth batch for this year, or the initial batch for the second quarter, 222,020 mt of copper scrap import quotas were allocated to over 140 companies.

 

Quotas for aluminium scrap in the latest batch stood at 1,030 mt, compared with 191,100 mt in the fifth batch, and cumulative quotas for this year reached 476,679 mt.

 

For steel scrap, the scrap management bureau issued 1,510 mt of import quotas in the latest batch and the cumulative amount for this year was 11,230 mt.

Indonesia Resumes Mineral Exports After Rare Earth Element Detection Issue Resolved
The Indonesian Presidential Office said on Friday that mineral exports that had been blocked due to rare earth element (REE) detection have resumed, with aluminum hydroxide and alumina cargoes loaded and shipped from West Kalimantan province.
