Aluminium billet inventories shrank 4,100 mt on week

Inventories of aluminium billet in China fell for a fifth consecutive week this week, as stocks in east China continued to shrink.

SHANGHAI, Apr 9 (SMM) – Inventories of aluminium billet in China fell for a fifth consecutive week this week, as stocks in east China continued to shrink.


SMM data showed that stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China declined 4,100 mt in the week ended April 9 to 170,100 mt. This followed a decline of 18,500 mt in the previous week.


Stocks in Foshan, Huzhou and Nanchang inched up this week, while those in Wuxi and Changzhou dropped.
