SHANGHAI, Mar 24 (SMM) – China imported 235,900 mt of ferronickel and NPI in February, up 66% year on year but down 4% month on month, according to SMM calculations based on China customs data.
Those imports contain about 37,000 mt of nickel, with NPI accounting for 72%.
In the first two months of 2020, China’s FeNi and NPI imports rose 63% from the same period last year.

Indonesia remained the biggest ferronickel and NPI exporter to China, as its production ramped up. New Caledonia and Myanmar took the second and third places.
