Secondary lead smelters operating rates recovered to 21.3% amid battery scrap supply tightness

The operating rates in Anhui, Henan and Jiangsu remained unchanged at 0%, 18% and 33.3%, respectively, while the rate in Guizhou jumped 17.9 percentage points to 43.9% as smelters there stepped up operations.

SHANGHAI, Mar 13 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou rose 3.4 percentage points from the prior week to 21.3% in the week ended March 13, showed a SMM survey.

 

The operating rates in Anhui, Henan and Jiangsu remained unchanged at 0%, 18% and 33.3%, respectively, while the rate in Guizhou jumped 17.9 percentage points to 43.9% as smelters there stepped up operations.

 

In Guizhou, Huoqilin resumed its smelting production line from maintenance, Sanhe extended production time, and Xinkaida resumed a production line at the beginning of this week.
