Silicon social inventories shrank 2,000 mt on week

The impact of the prolonged Chinese New Year holiday and the coronavirus outbreak on silicon inventories has faded with the stocks at plants returning to normal levels. The amounts of cargoes that flew in and out of warehouse in different areas were roughly in balance this week.

SHANGHAI, Mar 13 (SMM) – Inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port declined 2,000 mt from a week ago to 55,000 mt as of Friday March 13, showed SMM data. 

 

The impact of the prolonged Chinese New Year holiday and the coronavirus outbreak on silicon inventories has faded with the stocks at plants returning to normal levels. The amounts of cargoes that flew in and out of warehouse in different areas were roughly in balance. SMM exepcts social inventories of silicon metal to hold stable in the near term.
