SHANGHAI, Feb 28 (SMM) – Inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port extended their decline this week, falling 2,000 mt from a week ago to 54,000 mt as of Friday February 28, showed SMM data.

Silicon inventory at ports, however, increased as the resumption of motor traffic in south China accelerated the shipments of cargoes from silicon plants and social warehouses in major production areas to Huangpu port. Stocks in Kunming were lower this week, while inventories at Tianjin port edged higher on the back of greater arrivals than deliveries.

Overall inventories of silicon metal remained in a downward trend as of February 28.
