Silicon social inventories declined on brisk trades

Inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port dropped this week, decreasing 10,000 mt from a week ago to 56,000 mt as of Friday February 21, showed SMM data.

SHANGHAI, Feb 21 (SMM) – Inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port dropped this week, decreasing 10,000 mt from a week ago to 56,000 mt as of Friday February 21, showed SMM data.

The recovery of road transportation capacity between Kunming and Guangzhou bolstered deliveries from warehouses in the two regions this week, while Tianjin port saw shipments increase after silicon producers in Xinjiang signed a raft of deals.

Social inventories of silicon metal are expected to continue to fall next week.
