SHANGHAI, Feb 18 (SMM) – East China’s stainless steel producer, Zhangjiagang Pohang, will suspend all its production lines for about a week, starting from Thursday February 20, SMM learned.
This is expected to wipe out about 20,000 mt of 304 stainless steel production at this mill, which has capacity of 100,000 mt on a monthly basis.
The decision came amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic outbreak in China, which has delayed the resumption of upstream and downstream companies across the stainless steel industry chain and constrained logistical capacity across the nation.
