Primary aluminium inventories jumped as demand remained subdued

Stocks increased 148,000 mt in the week ended February 13 to 1.09 million mt

SHANGHAI, Feb 13 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium in China jumped in the second week after the Chinese New Year holiday, as shipments by rail arrived while demand remained subdued amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

SMM data showed that social inventories of primary aluminium ingots across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, increased 148,000 mt in the week ended February 13 to 1.09 million mt, compared to a build of 61,000 mt during February 3-6.

 

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 385,000 mt

Shanghai – 108,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 234,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 164,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 121,000 mt

Tianjin – 59,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 11,000 mt

Chongqing –11,000 mt
