Primary aluminium inventories rose 61,000 mt in the week after CNY holiday

Stocks increased 61,000 mt from Monday February 3 to 945,000 mt as of Thursday February 6

SHANGHAI, Feb 6 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium in China rose in the first week after the Chinese New Year holiday, as deliveries arrived and as logistics issues deterred cargoes from leaving warehouses.

SMM data showed that social inventories of primary aluminium ingots across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, increased 61,000 mt from Monday February 3 to 945,000 mt as of Thursday February 6. During the extended CNY holiday, the stocks jumped 194,000 mt. 

 

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 342,000 mt

Shanghai – 106,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 208,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 108,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 103,000 mt

Tianjin – 58,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 9,000 mt

Chongqing –11,000 mt
