Aluminium billet inventories rose 46,800 mt from pre-holiday

Stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas increased 46,800 mt from January 23

SHANGHAI, Feb 6 (SMM) – SMM data showed that stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China increased 46,800 mt from January 23, to 146,800 mt as of Thursday February 6.

The inventory rose for a third consecutive week by 33,700 mt in the week ended January 23.

Inventory

Foshan, Guangdong – 59,200 mt

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 23,500 mt

Changzhou, Jiangsu – 18,800 mt

Huzhou, Zhejiang – 30,000 mt

Nanchang, Jiangxi – 15,300 mt

The outbound volume of the aluminium billet rose by 800 mt to 48,300 mt last week, an increase of 1.6%. Aluminium prices fluctuated at high levels, and downstream users were less willing to purchase.
