SHANGHAI, Dec 17 (SMM) – China’s production of primary aluminium fell 3.2% from a year ago to 2.9 million mt in November, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Monday.
This marked the fifth month in a row of year-over-year declines, brining output in the first 11 months of 2019 to 32.13 million mt, down 0.6% from the same period a year earlier. Output in the first 10 months was up 0.7% year on year.
NBS data also showed that China's production of 10 nonferrous metals, including copper, aluminium, lead, zinc and nickel, totaled 5.11 million mt last month, up 4% year on year.
In January to November, output of the 10 nonferrous metals amounted to 53.31 million mt, with a year-over-year increase of 3.9%.
