SHANGHAI, Dec 16 (SMM) – Chinese copper smelter Jiangxi Copper and Zambian blister copper producer Chambishi have agreed refining charge (RC) of $128/mt for 2020 blister copper supply, SMM learned.

This marked a decline of $37/mt, or 22.4% from $165/mt for 2019, pointing to strong expectations of tight supply of blister copper next year.

Chambishi, a major provider of blister copper, an intermediate copper product, is owned by China Nonferrous Metals.
