Tangshan to lift level II anti-smog measures from Nov 7

SHANGHAI, Nov 6 (SMM) – Tangshan, the top steelmaking hub in China, will lift the level II anti-smog measures from Thursday morning. Mills in Tangshan are required to control production amid heavy pollution from end of October.

However, the level II anti-smog measures in another key steelmaking hub Handan in Hebei province will remain in place for a nine-day period till Sunday morning.

The smog control office of Hebei province said on Tuesday that anti-smog measures in Tangshan, Langfang, Cangzhou, Qinhuangdao will be lifted at CST 8:00 November 7. Shijiangzhuang, Baoding, Hengshui, Xingtai, Handan, Dingzhou, Xinji and Xiong’an New Area will lift the anti-pollution alerts at CST 8:00 November 10.
