SHANGHAI, Oct 23 (SMM) – Steelmakers in Tangshan, the top steelmaking hub in China, have been required to adhere to production curbs over sintering during different periods between late Tuesday to noon Thursday.
This came after the city intensified production curbs during October 18-22, and while the second-level smog alert which was issued on October 15 remains in place.
Between CST 23:00 October 22 to 14:00 October 23, Tangshan Steel’s northern mill, Tangyin Steel, Tianzhu Steel, Tanggang Stainless Steel, Jinma Steel and Donghai Steel are ordered to suspend sintering machines and keep truck carrying cargoes from entering or leaving the plants.
Similar restrictions will be imposed on Rongchen Steel, Huaxi Steel, Guoyi Steel, Donghai Special Steel, Ruifeng Steel, Jing’an Steel, Donghua Steel and Kaiheng Steel between CST 14:00 October 23 to 12:00 October 24.
