SHANGHAI, Sep 11 (SMM) – Sales of new energy vehicles in China dropped for a second straight month in August, falling 15.8% from a year ago to 85,000 units, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) released on Wednesday September 11 showed.
China NEV sales posted its first year-over-year decline of 4.7% in July.
For the first eight months of 2019, NEV sales amounted to 793,000 units, up 32% from the same period last year.
CAAM data also showed that car sales last month dropped 6.9% from a year ago to 1.96 million units. Sales of automobiles in January-August were 11% lower than the same period of 2018.
