SHANGHAI, Aug 23 (SMM) – Social inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city, and Tianjin port decreased by 2,000 mt from a week ago to stand at 60,000 mt as of Friday August 23, showed SMM data.
Losses in stocks in Tianjin port accounted for the decline, as sufficient orders drove a major producer in the north to slash its shipments to social warehouses.
SMM learned that the two ports saw limited inflows or outflows of silicon metal this week, suggesting continued weakness in liquidity and trading volumes.
