SMM News: Brazilian police said a group of armed robbers stole US $40 million worth of gold and other precious metals from the cargo terminal of S ã o Paulo Guarulius International Airport, South America's busiest airport, on Thursday and took two hostages.

Security video at the airport showed several suspects arriving at Guaroulius airport in a black pickup truck, wearing uniforms similar to those of the Brazilian federal police. Four masked men left the car, at least one of them holding a walk, confronted the workers at the airport, who then filled the pickup truck with goods.

Police reported that the robbers took about 750kg (1650 pounds) of gold and other precious metals and took two airport staff hostage, who are still at large.

An airport spokesman said no one was injured in the attack, but did not comment on possible hostages.
