SHANGHAI, Jul 23 (SMM) – China's ferronickel imports in June climbed 0.27%, or 300 mt on the month to stand at 121,200 mt, or 22,664 mt in nickel content, with lower arrivals from Indonesia, showed data from China Customs on Tuesday July 23.
Ferronickel imported from Indonesia came in at 79,400 mt in June, down 5.29%, or 4,400 mt from May. On a yearly basis, however, imports of Indonesian ferronickel stood 170.94%, or 50,100 mt higher in June.
Compared with June 2018, domestic ferronickel imports climbed 104.14%, or 61,800 mt last month.
China’s imports of ferronickel in May shrank 16.94% on the month but grew 51.47% on the year to stand at 120,900 mt.
