Tianjin steps up fight against pollution till end-Aug

The move will target major industrial sectors including steel, electricity, petrochemical, glass, cement, and waste-to-energy

SHANGHAI, Jul 22 (SMM) – North China's Tianjin Municipality will intensify controls on air pollution caused by key industrial sectors till August 31, on the top of the blue sky initiatives for the summer period, to significantly improve local air quality, the Tianjin environmental bureau said on Monday July 22. 

The move will target major industrial sectors including steel, electricity, petrochemical, glass, cement, and waste-to-energy. 

Regulations will also be tightened on volatile organic compounds (VOCs) discharge at firms and exhaust emissions by motor vehicles and machines.
