With the rapid development of new energy vehicles, infrastructure such as charging piles are also rapidly following up, and the corresponding demand for copper has also been boosted. BloombergNEF estimates that by 2030, 119 million to 136 million public and household charging posts will be deployed worldwide, with an annual consumption of nearly 60, 000 tons of copper.

SMM7 18-with the rapid development of new energy vehicles, charging piles and other infrastructure is also rapidly following up, the corresponding copper demand has also been boosted.

BloombergNEF estimates that by 2030, 119 million to 136 million public and household charging posts will be deployed worldwide, with an annual consumption of nearly 60, 000 tons of copper.

And by 2030, the number of household charging posts will increase significantly relative to public charging piles, and even assuming that only 70% of households with new energy vehicles have domestic charging piles, the proportion of copper used will be as high as 2/3.

However, it should be noted that compared with the public charging pile, the domestic charging pile uses less copper. For each charging point, the amount of copper used in household charging piles is about 2 kg, that in public charging stations is 7 kg, and that in DC fast charging station (DCFC) is 25 kg.
