SMM Statistics: transaction details of overseas Alumina from April to June

Since April 2019, with the smooth production of 2 million tons of alumina project of EGA Emirates Aluminum and the resumption of production capacity of Alunorte 3.2 million tons of alumina at Hydro alumina plant in Brazil, the transaction price of overseas alumina has ushered in a trend decline. SMM combs the details of overseas alumina transactions since April (reflected in both weekly and monthly reports) for market reference:

The main overseas transactions in April are as follows:

In the first week of April, South32 sold a shipment of 25000 tons, May shipment date, FOB $429 / ton; Alcoa sold a shipment of 4, 000 tons, May shipment, FOB $440,400 / ton; Australia sold a FOB price of $407 / ton, 30, 000 tons, shipment began on May 9.

In the second week of April, Brazil sold a shipment of 30, 000 tons of alumina at US $383.5 per tonne of FOB in early May, while a shipment of Australian alumina sold at US $383.5 per tonne of FOB in early May.

In the third week of April, Australia traded 35000 tons of FOB at US $363.5 per tonne for shipment from 26 to 31 May, while Brazil traded 35000 tons at US $366.5 per tonne for FOB, due at the beginning of June.

In the fourth week of April, the power outage in Jamalco, Jamaica, affected production and shipments, and is expected to resume in early May, with a turnover of US $362 per tonne for a shipment of 30, 000 tons of FOB in Australia and a shipment of US $25000 per tonne for FOB of US $373.5 per tonne for shipment from 6 to 12 June in Brazil.

There were fewer overseas transactions in May, with the main transactions as follows:

In the first week of May, a deal of US $348.5 per tonne of FOB was sold in Western Australia.

In the second week of May, the FOB of Western Australia reached US $373 / ton, with a shipment date of US $30, 000 per tonne, with a shipment date of 15-21 June.

In the third week of May, Western Australia FOB 383 US dollars / ton traded 35000 tons per ship, and the shipment date was in late June.

The fourth week of May trading volume of 30, 000 tons, shipment date in early July, the price of Western Australia FOB $370 / ton;

Transactions in the middle and early June were as follows:

Us $346 / tonne of FOB for Western Australia in early July, US $339 / tonne of FOB for Western Australia in Vedanta, and US $337/ tonne of FOB for Western Australia at the end of July.

[SMM Aluminum Express News] Metro Mining (ASX:MMI) resumed operations at Bauxite Hills in mid-March after Tropical Cyclone Narelle caused minimal disruption, with only seven days of lost production and no infrastructure damage. The Port of Skardon reopened on 25 March, with barging gradually returning to full capacity by mid-April. Despite the disruption, 100,000 WMT was shipped in March. Transhipping continues via TSA Skardon Floating Crane and ultramax vessels, while the Ikamba Offshore Floating Terminal is en route back from maintenance in Batam and expected to arrive end-April. Full-year 2026 shipments are forecast at 6.6–7.1 million WMT.
