Brazil's Ministry of Commerce said Brazilian iron ore exports could reach 1.47 million tons a day in the first 10 days of June, compared with 1.52 million tons a day in the first five days of June. In June last year, Brazilian iron ore exports reached 1.68 million tons per day, with a total export volume of 35.3 million tons for the whole month. This year, Brazilian iron ore production and exports have been greatly affected by the dam break at Vale at the beginning of the year and the subsequent shutdown of mines.

SMM6, 18 March: Brazilian iron ore exports can reach 1.47 million tons per day in the first 10 days of June, compared with 1.52 million tons per day in the first five days of June, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Commerce.

In June last year, Brazilian iron ore exports reached 1.68 million tons per day, with a total export volume of 35.3 million tons for the whole month.

This year, Brazilian iron ore production and exports have been greatly affected by the dam break at Vale at the beginning of the year and the subsequent shutdown of mines.

Earlier, Brazil's mining minister said iron ore production in Brazil could fall by 10 per cent this year and that the situation next year was unclear.
