Outotec and Baikal Mining sign Copper Concentrator and smelter contract to start production in 2022

Outotec has signed a contract with Baikal Mining Company, Russia, for a copper concentrator and a wet smelter valued at 250 million euros (approximately US $282 million). Of that amount, about 35 million euros will be included in Outotec's second quarter orders. Upon commissioning, the project is expected to have an annual ore processing capacity of 12 million tons and will be delivered by 2020.

SMM6, 17 March: Outotec has signed a contract with Baikal Mining Company, Russia, for a copper concentrator and a wet smelter worth 250 million euros (about $282 million). Of that amount, about 35 million euros will be included in Outotec's second quarter orders.

Upon commissioning, the project is expected to have an annual ore processing capacity of 12 million tons and will be delivered by 2020.

The first phase of the plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 120000 metal tons per year and will be put into production in 2022. Baikal Mining Company said it also plans to further expand its production capacity to 480000 metal tons per year.
