Weaker consumption slows declines in primary aluminium inventories

Stocks declined 30,000 mt from a week ago to 1.118 million mt as of Jun 13

SHANGHAI, Jun 13 (SMM) – Primary aluminium stocks in China continued to fall this week, at a slower rate, as consumption weakened.

SMM data showed that social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, declined 30,000 mt from Thursday June 6 to stand at 1.118 million mt as of Thursday June 13. Inventories dropped 64,000 mt in the previous week.

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 392,000 mt

Shanghai – 217,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 251,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 99,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 75,000 mt

Tianjin – 53,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 8,000 mt

Chongqing –23,000 mt
