Arrivals grow zinc social inventories over weekend

Stocks rose 3,100 mt from May 17 to stand at 158,800 mt as of May 20

SHANGHAI, May 20 (SMM) – Social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin rose 3,100 mt from Friday May 17 to stand at 158,800 mt as of Monday May 20, SMM data showed.

The inventories lost 2,100 mt from Monday May 13.

Stocks expanded over the weekend as on-demand purchases by downstream consumers failed to offset arrivals of domestic cargoes.

Social inventories of refined zinc across the three regions are expected to fall slower.
