SHANGHAI, May 5 (SMM) – Liuzhou Iron & Steel Group in China's southwestern province of Guangxi commenced construction of a ferronickel smelting project in the recent week, a source told SMM on Sunday May 5.
With an investment of 5.6 billion yuan, the project covers the construction of material yards, sintering machines, blast furnaces, and other supporting facilities.
The project will prepare the ground for the company's 5-million-mt-capacity production base for stainless steel, which is still in the pipeline.
