Power supply control impacts production of high-carbon ferrochrome in Inner Mongolia

SHANGHAI, Mar 18 (SMM) – Energy controls prompted a high-carbon ferrochrome plant in Ulanqab of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with annual capacity of 140,000 mt, to put its four electric furnaces under maintenance for 10 days, SMM learned.

This is likely to impact output of high-carbon ferrochrome by 1,200 mt this month.

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu.
