Increased arrivals, slow purchases grow inventories of primary aluminium

Stocks came in at 1.29 million mt as of Thursday Dec 27, up 6,000 mt from Thursday Dec 20

SHANGHAI, Dec 27 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, came in at 1.29 million mt as of Thursday December 27, up 6,000 mt from Thursday December 20, SMM data showed.

More arrivals from smelters and smaller purchases from downstream buyers grew stocks on the week, following a week-on-week drop of 15,000 mt last Thursday.

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 519,000 mt

Shanghai – 321,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 151,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 81,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 111,000 mt

Tianjin – 57,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 23,000 mt

Chongqing – 23,000 mt
