Tin ore imports from Myanmar down 45% YoY in Nov

China’s tin ore and concentrates imports totalled 17,884 mt in Nov, of which 17,398 mt originated from Myanmar

SHANGHAI, Dec 26 (SMM) – China’s tin ore and concentrates imports totalled 17,884 mt in November, of which 17,398 mt originated from Myanmar, according to the latest customs statistics.

The International Tin Association (ITRI) estimates that tin content of shipments from Myanmar in November was about 4,000 mt, up 29% from October but down 45% from November 2017.

Tin metal content of ores and concentrates from Myanmar amounted to some 49,800 mt in January-November, down 11% year on year.

Customs data also showed that tin ingot imports stood at 189 mt last month, half of which originated from Indonesia.

For the same month, tin ingot exports came in at 683 mt, and major destinations were Malaysia, Hong Kong and Japan.
