SHANGHAI, Dec 21 (SMM) – It was heard that China’s top steelmaking city ofTangshan in Hebei province will halt all sintering operations during December 20-31, according to market talk on Thursday December 20.
As of Thursday, some steel mills in Tangshan have received informal notice, SMM learned.
Steelmakers who provide heating to local communities in the winter or who are likely to have technology issues will be allowed to keep their sintering machines operating at the lowest level.
