SHANGHAI, Nov 14 (SMM) – Chinese steelmakers produced 82.55 million mt of crude steel in October, 9.1% higher from a year ago, showed data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday November 14.
In the first ten months of the year, output of crude steel rose 6.4% from the same period in 2017, and stood at 782.46 million mt,
In October, China produced 98.02 million mt of steel products, up 11.5% from a year earlier. This raised overall production of steel products by 7.8% year on year, to 918.44 million mt.
NBS data also showed that pig iron output for October came in at 67.74 million mt, up 7.3% from October 2017. Overall production in January-October rose 1.7% from the same period last year, to 645.06 million mt.
