This is expected to affect daily production of molten iron by 30,000 mt, compared with regular output of 50,000 mt per day

SHANGHAI, Nov 5 (SMM) – Shagang Group in Jiangsu province faced stricter production cuts before and during the China International Import Expo (CIIE) as two more blast furnaces, of 2,500 and 5,800 m³ respectively, were required to suspend from November 3.

This is expected to affect daily production of molten iron by 30,000 mt, from regular daily output of 50,000 mt at the company, SMM learned.

As the first-ever China International Import Expo (CIIE) is held in Shanghai on November 5-10, it remains unclear when the curbs will be lifted.

Fresh curbs come on top of maintenance scheduled on November 1-15, which will affect pig iron production by 8,300 mt per day, according to a previous report by SMM.
