Nickel ore inventories at ports grow on the week

The inventories grew 210,000 wmt from Oct 12 to 13.92 million wmt as of Friday Oct 19

SHANGHAI, Oct 19 (SMM) – Nickel ore inventories across all Chinese ports grew 210,000 wmt from October 12 to 13.92 million wmt as of Friday October 19, SMM data showed.

In metal content, stocks gained 2,000 mt for the same period and stood at 117,000 mt.

Stocks across seven major Chinese ports rose by 70,000 wmt to 9.84 million wmt.

Prices of medium-grade nickel ore remained at $75/wmt in November. Shipments from the Philippines, sold over the previous periods, declined sharply amid the rainly season and cargoes in the spot market thinned.
