SHANGHAI, Aug 29 (SMM) – To ease air pollution during forecasted poor weather, the municipal government of Tangshan required all polluting sintering machines, shaft furnaces and lime kilns across the city to halve production from 18:00 CST on Wednesday August 29 to 12:00 CST on Monday September 3.
Sintering machines with denitrification facilities that are currently running, are exempt from the cut. These include a #198 machine at Kaiheng Steel plant, a #265 machine at Tangsteel, two machines #300 at Yanshan Copper, a #265 and #240 machine at Jinxi Iron & Steel, as well as a #230 machine at Delong Iron & Steel.
With denitrification facilities in place, these sintering machines could keep their emission concentration of sulphur oxide below 35mg/m³, that of nitric oxide below 50mg/m³, and particulate matter below 10mg/m³. This meets the nation's ultra-low emission standard for contaminating industries, SMM learned.
