Shandong kicks off provincial environmental probes

The Shandong government started a new round of environmental probes across the province from the middle of this month

SHANGHAI, Aug 16 (SMM) – The Shandong government has kicked off a fresh round of environmental probes across the province this week, SMM learned.

It remains unknown when the probes would come to an end.

However, steel mills and nickel pig iron (NPI) mills across the region have yet to receive any impact from this move, SMM learned.

Shanghai Futures Exchange allows overseas traders in nickel futures & options

Effective April 22, 2026 (night session on April 21), nickel futures and options are open to overseas participants. First contracts: NI2605 and subsequent futures, with corresponding options. For margin, overseas traders may use USD at a 0.95 discount rate, valued at the daily RMB central parity rate. Account opening is available immediately.
