SHANGHAI, Jun 8 (SMM) – The operating rate across China's primary lead smelters in May gained 2.1 percentage points from April and stood at 59.7%, SMM surveyed. The figure is down 0.09 percentage points from the same period last year.
SMM expects that operating rates will fall to 55.2% in June as primary lead smelters in Jiyuan, Henan province faced month-long production cuts of 30-50% for environmental reviews.
