SHANGHAI, Jun 5 (SMM) – As of Tuesday June 5, refining charges (RCs) of imported blister copper dipped from early May as supplies of blister copper declined in China and abroad. Growing domestic demand across refineries also depressed RCs of imported blister copper.
On June 5, RCs were offered at $190-220/mt cif and 1,600-1,800 yuan/mt for goods delivered to domestic refineries. This compared with $220-240/mt cif and 1,800-2,000 yuan/mt on May 9, and with $200-230/mt cif and 1,700-1,900 yuan/mt on May 23.
RCs began to climb from the start of March, when they stood above 1,300 yuan/mt.
