SHANGHAI, Jun 1 (SMM) – Domestic zinc concentrate treatment charges (TCs) averaged 3,500-3,700 yuan/mt for the week ended Friday June 1, up 50 yuan/mt from the previous week, SMM learned.
An upward adjustment of 100-200 yuan/mt across smelters in Yunnan and Guangxi province this week accounted for the increase in TCs, SMM learned. With high in-plant inventories of raw materials and a higher frequency of maintenance across local smelters, demand for zinc concentrate dipped. Smelters such as Chihong and Luoping have already stopped receiving deliveries, local mine traders told SMM.
There were no significant changes in the domestic zinc concentrate supply during recent weeks.
TCs for imported zinc concentrate stood at $20-30/mt on the week, flat from a week earlier.
